In genetics the terms heterozygous and homozygous come for this simply means whether the parent carries 1 or 2 of the same genes. Hetrozygous = Sm (1 gene of the same species) Homozygous = SS (2 same genes) Spotted inherits dominantly over, so only 1 carrier of the spotted gene is needed to get/expect spotted kittens, the marble gene is recessive, so you need 2 carrier parents to get marble kittens In this explanation I use letters the S stands for spotted the m stands for marble Because spotted (S) is dominant I give spotted a capital in this example Because marble (m) is recessive I give marble a small letter.This way you will soon be able to see in a diagram which combination of parents you can expect what kind of fur.
